And shall I pray Thee change Thy will Father,
Until it be according unto mine?
But no, Lord, no, that never shall be, rather
I pray Thee blend my human will with Thine.

I pray Thee hush the hurrying, eager longing,
I pray Thee soothe the pangs of keen desire--
See in my quiet places wishes thronging--
Forbid them, Lord, purge though it be with fire.

And work in me to will and do Thy pleasure
Let all within me, peaceful, satisfied,
Tarry content my Well-Beloved's leisure,
At last, at last, even as a weaned child.

~Amy Carmichael

Oh, my goodness, Jillian! This is one of my most favorite poems ever! When I read it in "A Chance to Die", I immediately copied it into my Bible, because it applies so well to me, and I read it quite often to remind me of its truths. I practically have it memorized!

Amy Charmichael wrote such challenging poems! I love it when you quote her.

BTW, it was so fun seeing you last weekend!

Lyddy--I was attempting an all-nighter...but I gave up at five at went to bed. My studying paid off though...I think the test went really well.

Lydia--I did have this poem memorized at one time...all it takes is one line for the whole thing to flood back.

Abbie--it was fun to see all you guys too! When I was in eighth grade, I began making a compliation of Amy Carmicheal poems...I think I still have it somewhere. :-) I love her stuff. About half my bookshelf is made up of her, C.S. Lewis, and Elizabeth Elliot; the rest is everything else!

Oops...I'm getting tired...
I love that woman--Amy Carmichael! She is one of my "heros of the faith." God continues to be glorified through her writings.
It was good to see you again Jill! Get some sleep now!

Yeah, I can relate. Get this:

I woke up at 11:30p.m. today and will be going to men’s morning right after I finish studying...at 6:00a.m...

Ahhh, don't you just love midterms?

=)

Wow ... y'all are intense! The latest I stayed up studying for a midterm this semester was 3:30 AM (and that was because one of my friends wanted me to study with him) ... how's it going, y'all?

Well, Marcie, basically nothing other than school and work...

Except for some stuff me and a couple buddies are planning...
